Lori Thompson
Lori Thompson is owner, manager, and trainer at Laurel Crest Farm. She has experience competing in A rated competitions on the East and West coast, re-training OTTB’s, starting and working with young horses, farm management, therapeutic riding, and teaching all levels of riders. Lori’s love of horses was apparent at a young age and she received her first pony at age 7. She started at a local barn where she showed, fox hunted, and even rode in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in NYC. Wanting more show experience, she moved to Quiet Winter Farm with the late Carol Thompson. There she competed 4 years as a junior in the hunters and jumpers at rated shows on the East coast. Her education continued on the West coast with horse trainer Hugh White and has since travelled the country working with professionals of all equine disciplines. Lori’s philosophy is to always continue learning and enjoys participating in hunter/jumper clinics with professionals like Bernie Traurig, Peter Leon, Joe Fargis, Frank Madden, and Karen Healey to name a few. Lori is currently working, training, and teaching at Stonehedge Stables under Max Amaya.
